What better testimonial than a pile of tired dogs relaxing after a fun-filled day

at the Puppy Park?

See what other puppies have to say:

We have had two dogs before we found Emma.  Klancy was our beloved and unique English Bulldog who our vet confirmed was really a person stuck in a dog suit, and our little angel Scout, a Newfie/Lab mix who we adopted from Southwest Washington Humane Society in '97.
Then, last February came Emma. Yikes! We had lost Klancy in 2000 and were ready for another dog.
I placed a request application, and was called shortly thereafter to come and visit a handicapped yellow lab, it was our Emma. She was very cute and goofy. Unfortunately, her blindness was a bit intimidating at first to my husband Dave.

I volunteer for SWHS so I decided to do what I could at the Shelter to get her adopted. I sat in the lobby the next 2 weeks and introduced her to everyone who came through. As darling as she was, her handicap scared people away. After some debate with Dave, we agreed to see how Emma would do in our home. We soon called her "Emma the Dilemma".  She chewed up a golf bag, my running shoes, a bike seat, lawn furniture and a sprinkler.

She opened the refrigerator and enjoyed a 6 pack of Pepsi.  Ah, the first two weeks were off to a great start.
At first, my tendency was to coddle her. Big Mistake. She is all lab which makes her curious coupled with non-stop energy. You have to expect the same from Emma as any sighted dog. Her hearing and smelling abilities are amazing -- there's no getting anything past her.
Emma has not been the easiest puppy to raise. She constantly torments her brother Scout, and she's always in motion and in the middle of everything. I attribute her success to her daycare, Happy Puppy Park, where she is able to socialize and just be one of the gang, amd my husband, his endless patience and time spent working with her has made all the difference. He wasn't sold on Emma at first, but soon she had him wrapped around her paws.
Emma accomplished almost everything the other pups could do, and with flying colors. We are constantly amazed at her ability to adapt and learn. She may bump into things now and again, but she never stops trying.
Emma wouldn't be a good dog for every household, but she found the perfect home with us. Thanks to Southwest Washington Humane Society she will always be our little "M".

"Thank you Brenda, Robin, and my many friends at the puppy park. Thanks to you, I have so much fun at the puppy park that when I come home, it takes all my strength to gather my toys and crawl under the table for some z's. And it makes my mom happy too because she doesn't have to worry about giving me exercise after she's been at work all day.....we love the Happy Puppy Park!"

"Whenever I hear the words "Puppy Park", my ears perk up and I get a big grin on my face.  I can't stop jumping up and down, and my tail gets a mind of its own, wagging back and forth like crazy.  I love to go to the Park and play frisbee.....as far as I'm concerned, the Puppy Park is the best place on earth!"

-Shelby

"I've only been going to the Park for a short while, but I already love it.  I've made so many friends, and when I show up, everybody is there wagging their tails, excited for another day of play.  Then, when I get picked up at night, I go home, eat a few bites of food, and immediately fall asleep on the couch.....life is good!"

-Sierra

Here are two of my favorite pictures of Joey passed out after a day at the Park. I wish I could have recorded the sound of him snoring too. Thank you Brenda, Robin, and Lynn for making Joey the happiest dog I could possible imagine.

Hey Everybody, this is Boomer's Mom! He's the guy looking for that ball. If you wanna know how much he and his buddies like the HPP, just ask me. I don't know all the owners yet, but I know most of the dogs by name, just like you hear the names of all your kid's classmates. HPP ROCKS!!!

- Adrianne

Thank you Brenda and Robin for believing in what you do.... Thanks for the battle. Most people would have given up in the beginning...You two are incredible.. thanks again.

Brenda, I loved meeting you and seeing your... "spread" is about the best word I can think of. "Facility" might also work. "Park" doesn't do justice to it. I've seen many dog day care places, from people's back yards, to extensively reconstructed buildings, and yours far outshines them. As an instructor, I've learned to mask my reactions form students - good or bad - so I was only drooling out the side of my face that was facing away from you...

- Kevin-Neil Klop

Our “kids” have enjoyed being Brenda and Robin’s foster kids for years much to their benefit and ours. There are no better people around to care for our companions. They deserve all the support we can give.
